Jim B. Golden, president and CEO of Golden Opportunity, Inc., is an experience and dynamic award winning speaker, presenter and workplace learning and performance (WLP) professional, who has a combination of over 25 years professional corporate, government and academic experience in the areas of public speaking and presentation skills and communications and interpersonal skills.

Jim began his learning and development career in 1992 as a corporate software trainer.  Since then, he has provided learning and development services to individuals, teams, leadership and management from various industries.  In 2003, he founded and incorporated Golden Opportunity to provide organizational communications learning and development services to the following industries: governement agencies, hotel/hospitality and higher education.

Jim is a member of Toastmasters International, where he has won several competitive speech contests, as well as club, area and district “Toastmaster and President of the Year” honors.  The district encompasses most of the mid-Atlantic region.
 
Jim is a teaching excellence award nominated professor, course chair, and faculty mentor at University of Maryland University College (UMUC).  His teaching and facilitation focus at UMUC includes Public Speaking, Communication and Interpersonal Skills.  Jim serves on the commencement name reading team and has received from UMUC, the dean’s recognition for outstanding student evaluations.

Jim received his Executive Business Education from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Masters of Science from University of Maryland University College (UMUC), and Bachelors of Science from Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio.

Jim currently volunteers with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education to provide educational and motivational speaking workshops at various Montgomery County Maryland Public Schools.  He formerly served on Board of Advisors for The Mitchellville School in Bowie, MD and Executive Board for the Travilah Elementary School PTA in North Potomac, MD.
